2010 Horsham Lions Scholarship Winner Kristina Wharton

Our sole 2010 scholarship winner is Miss Kristina Wharton, who attended Hatboro-Horsham High School. She and her parents visited our club during our July 1st meeting. Kristina will be attending West Chester University this fall, studying nursing. She has already earned some college credits for nursing during her high school career. Kristina has been very active in high school, participating in many sports, National Honor Society, and the Interact Club. She volunteers at Abington Memorial Hospital regularly. Last winter, Kristina and a friend took it upon themselves to "adopt" a local family in financial need. They provided the family with Christmas gifts, for the children as well as the parents. They made sure the family had plenty of food for the holidays, and even helped decorate their home for the season. Help us congratulate Miss Wharton and wish her continued success in her future.
